
Mark Stanley Fromm (b. 1982) is a composer and musician from Pittsburgh, PA. He holds degrees in composition from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh (BFA) and McGill University, Montréal (MMus.) His works have won several awards and have been performed worldwide, including such places as Nashville, New York City, Ottawa, London, Santiago, and Doha.
Fromm's music is regarded as highly playable, as it is written from a performer's perspective. He has performed in such diverse groups as Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble, Saxophone Quartet, Contemporary Ensemble, Pit Orchestra, Concert Choir, and Recorder Consort. Primarily a woodwind player, he regularly performs on bassoon, saxophone, and clarinet.

His composition, theory, and orchestration teachers have included John Rea, Nancy Galbraith, Efraín Amaya, Leonardo Balada, Reza Vali, Amy Williams, Christophe Neidhöfer, and Peter Schubert.
He currently resides in Pittsburgh, PA where he is an active composer, performer, teacher, and music copyist. He is a founding member and bassoonist for Alia Musica Pittsburgh, a group dedicated to the performance of new music. He is currently attending University of Pittsburgh to earn his Ph.D. in music composition.
